Another One Bites The Dust

And he's outta there! Al Davis fired the Raiders head coach, Lane Kiffin, a quarter way through the season. Are we really surprised? With a 5-15 record since becoming head coach he was dismissed. The last time Al Davis did this was to Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan back in the day. It just goes to show you that if you try to stand up to the man he will just knock you down.
I'm going to miss Kiffin. I think he's a good coach, he's just a young coach who had yet to find his footing. When you enter an institution like the Raiders you have to "play the game" so to speak. Kiffin didn't. He argued, disagreed, and poof...disappeared. I wonder who will take his place?

Yo Gabba Gabba

So, Madi is in LOVE with this show on Nick Jr. called Yo Gabba Gabba. I have to admit she is super cute when she is dancing to their odd songs and answering their questions. I tried for several months to avoid this show but one day I forgot to change the channel after Blue's Clues and it came on and she has been dancing to it ever since.

I was able to pick up all the beanie dolls of the characters at Target. They seem to be the only store that they are available at. The dvd of the first season will be out in October and I think that will be one of Madi's Christmas presents. I put Madi's favorite song on here. What can I do? It makes her smile and dance.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Today is a good day. The Broncos lost and the Raiders are up. How that game will end is yet to be seen.

I haven't posted in a few because I have been so busy. I decided that although the costume that I made Madi is cute it's not quite what what I wanted so I decided to redo it. I found some different fabric that has bigger polka dots and a more vivid red. I think it will look better. Anyway, I am having some difficulties with the zipper, because I have never done one before, and Madi is growing at a very fast rate that I'm afraid she will be too big for it by Halloween. Seriously, that child has went from a 2T to a 3T overnight.

Speaking of Halloween, we have figured out what all of the kiddos are going to be but one. My sweet niece Braydon. She can't make up her mind and being indecisive is something she is very good at. Tinie is going to be Belle, Zac is Jack Sparrow, Reese is going to be a kitty (again), and Spencer doesn't care for costumes so he will be wearing a Halloween shirt. I have had Madi's costume picked for months now. ZK and I were thinking of being Germans for Halloween but I don't think I will have enough time to make us both outfits. I guess I will just have to be a witch again.

I hope everyone is doing well and I promise (J.J.R.C) that I will try to update at least every other day. I want to get the rest of my Halloween things on eBay and finish Madi's costume, then get started on things for Christmas. Have a great evening!

Sex and the City Movie

On Tuesday, September 23, the Sex and the City movie's DVD will be released. I am so excited. I loved the series and I thought the movie was good, not great but good.

I'm glad she ended up with Big but my hubby thinks it should have been Aiden all the way. I can't BELIEVE Steve cheated on Miranda and yay, Charlotte finally got pregnant! Anyway, good movie and this DVD is an extended cut with scenes not shown in theaters.

Around The Corner

Christmas is just around the corner and I am so excited. It is definitely my favorite time of the year.

This weekend I was cruising the Internet trying to find Mickey Mouse and Friends Christmas ornaments. Every year for the last 4 years I get a special ornament for me, ZK, and for the last 2 years, Madi. It's my little way of having memories from certain years based on what we like or what was popular that year. I always date them on the bottom so we know what year they are from. Well this year my little one is in LOVE with Mickey and his crew so I wanted to get some of them for her special ornaments this year.

After hours of searching I came to the conclusion that they are hard to come by and the ones I could find were waaaayyy out of my price range. I sat at my desk thinking about what to do. I thought about clay ones,(nah, too hard and I am not a very good painter), fabric ones, and then BAM! it came to me. I will make my own using decoupage.

I went to Michael's and got glass ornaments, Mod Podge Satin finish, snow flakes, and green ribbon. After looking for Christmas Disney pics that I could use for free, without "stealing" them off the Internet, I got to work.

I cut my image out with an exacto knife, then filled the ornament with fake snow, decoupaged my image to the ornament, and tied it with a ribbon. The finished product isn't perfect by any means but I think that makes it more special. ZK really liked them and I know that Madi will love them when we put them on the tree.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
