Life

Hello again!  After a long but wonderful summer we have moved, Miss M has started 1st grade, Mr. A is growing like a weed and completes our family perfectly.  We are truly blessed.

Now it's Fall and the beginning of my favorite time of the year!  Halloween, leaves falling, Christmas preparing, and wonderful, oh so wonderful baking!! I am going to try and get some family photos done over the next couple of weeks and am working on my upcoming craft show.

I have started on a few projects and am really liking how they are turning out. First up is my Sweet Tweet banner.  I love how this turned out and it was a hard thing to list it for sale instead of keeping it for myself.  I just want you to know that I hand stitched the birds onto the red pennants myself.  Sorry I had to toot my own horn :)

Like I said I really love how it turned out.  The red and hints of teal are adorable and just happen to be my favorite color combo right now.

My other project has been decorating my house for Halloween.  I love Halloween and so does my little family.  Miss M. is a little frightened of scary things so I have made it my goal to do sweet, fun decorations that aren't scary.  I think I have done a pretty nice job.  I'll have some pics of my progress here in a few days.

I guess I'll get off here.  It's thundering like crazy and I need to get off my computer and try to locate my umbrella for when I go get Miss M from school in a few hours.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Hand Stamped Candles Tutorial

I know I have been long gone for quite some time but I'm back and I have a great excuse! I welcomed a handsome new baby boy, Mr. A. into the family 2 months ago. Trying to get back into the groove of having a newborn again has been exhausting!

To make up for my time away I am going to give you the BEST tutorial EVER! I have found a great way to make blah candles fantastic candles! Check it out:

If you have any questions about any of the steps just let me know. I found it to be pretty easy and was even able to teach my niece and my mom how to do it too. Hope you have a good week and I will try to update more often :)

Hello!

It's been awhile since my last post and for that I apologize. I have been super busy with a lot of new adventures heading my way.

I hope you all had a lovely holiday season. We sure did. It's nice to get over the Christmas hump and move on. I hope Spring isn't too far away but I have a feeling I have a couple more months of cold, cold weather.

I have been working on a few new things and a few new goals for the new year. I hope you will all check back to see what I have been working on and know that I will work more diligently at keeping up with this blog.

Here are a few goodies to leave you with...

My First Blog Award!

Yay!! I was chosen by the amazing Tiffany at My Lemonade Dreams, for this fabulous award!

The rules of this blog award are :
*I must share 7 things about myself
and
*I must share the love by awarding 7 other bloggers!

So here we go!

1: I adore Harry Potter! I have a huge collection of memorabilia including one of the original Hogwarts train sets, that I am very proud of. :)

2: I LOVE to sew. I adore it, find it so relaxing, and am happiest coming up with new outfits for my sweet baby girl, who is no longer a baby.

3: My celebrity crush is Gordon Ramsey. I think he is so cute and passionate about food. No wonder I married a fantastic cook!

4: I still call my mom, mama. I am 30 years old and get made fun of because of this but I will call her mama forever.

5: I love video games! I play with my husband all the time and my favorite games are Gears of War, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil.

6: I watched the movie Cujo at the drive in when I was 5 and am still scared to death of St. Bernard dogs. Yep, can't even watch the Beethoven movies.

7: My super power is that I know where everything is. My husband looses a belt I know exactly where it is. My daughter leaves a toy outside and can't find it, I go out with a flash light and track it down. If it's missing come ask me and I'll locate it. :)

Marie Antoinette Ornaments

I decided to try a few Marie Antoinette themed ornaments. My fellow etsian Chic Decor Treasures is doing a FABULOUS Christmas in July sale and she inspired me to do a little too. You can check out her wonderful shop here.

Anyway back to it. I purchased these great Marie themed clips and have had these glass ornaments hanging around forever. They have a little sprinkle of glitter and are filled with pink tulle.

I really like how they turned out. Very Marie.

Well,I better get some things done around here but I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sunshine and Blue Skies

All it took was two pieces of fabric that happened to be laying side by side to give me inspiration.

A lovely canary yellow and sky blue fabric is the reason for my newest creations.

I made a sweet rosette necklace and Miss M loved it! I helped her draw a sun to help me with my photo for my etsy shop.

This is a lovely statement ring that is complete with a vintage button.

And, finally here are a pair of chandelier earrings.

If you like what you see, these items are available at my etsy shop, Madi's Treasures. You can get there by clicking the store front to the right of your screen.

I hope everyone has had a good week so far.
